Remote Volume System





Introduction

The Stepped Switch remote system allows you to add remote control to Goldpoint or Dact stepped attenuators. We also offer a system to allow you to add remote control to a couple models of Shallco switches - provided these are ordered from Shallco with the appropriate shaft extension. Beyond that our basic remote kits can sometimes be fit to other attenuator systems via either creative direct coupling of the motor or via a timing belt drive system. The system is designed specifically for stepped attenuators and switches. It rotates in the exact step size required for each step. Full manual operation of volume via your front panel volume knob continues to operate just as it did before the remote installation.

Goldpoint Stepped Attenuator Remote Kit (4 Deck Unit Shown)

The Goldpoint remote system features clean packaging designed with the kind help of Goldpoint. The motor and PCB attach to a frame around the attenuator - supporting the motor's weight from the front panel connection point.

The Goldpoint Attenuator Remote Control Kit Features:

  • Direct coupled stepper motor using custom machined mount and coupling
  • Includes all parts needed except the Goldpoint attenuator
  • Completely assembled and wired - no electronics knowledge required
  • Remote IR receiver on 8" extender cable
  • All clocks shutoff and go to 'sleep' between commands for noise free operation
  • Available for 2 deck (stereo) or 4 Deck (stereo Balanced) units
  • Plastic Remote Handset included or Bent Metal Handset option

  • Required voltage = 9Vdc to 12Vdc
  • Required Current = approx 1 Amp when turning.
  • Very low 4Ma standby current (when the motor is not turning)
  • Step Size is 15 degrees per step standard

Dact Stepped Attenuator Remote Kit

The Dact remote system adds remote control up and down volume function to any Dact attenuator.

The Dact Attenuator Remote Control Kit Features:

  • Direct coupled stepper motor using custom machined mount and coupling
  • Includes all parts needed except the Dact attenuator
  • Completely assembled and wired - no electronics knowledge required
  • Remote IR receiver on 8" extender cable

Shallco Stepped Switch Remote Kit



The Shallco Remote System adds remote control of UP and DOWN volume function to 1-3/4" Frame size 23 position or 2-1/4" frame size 42 step Shallco switches. Note the Shallco switch must have been ordered with the required shaft extension. Also note that these are switches and not full attenuators. To use them as an attenuator you either must install resistors onto the switch or alternately wire an AVC or TVC unit to the switch.
