Pot Replacement Module
Introduction
The PRM-1 is a small (very small!) TAP front panel controller PCB packaged in a small aluminum enclosure. This handy TAP controller option can be mounted in place of any attenuator using it's original mounting hole. This makes it VERY easy to retrofit to existing products or to use in DIY designs.
Once installed the PRM-1 can be plugged into any TAP Attenuator or Source Select PCB's - all TAP functions are supported.
This page describes using the PRM-1 along with a Goldpoint BSA-1 attenuator PCB. This pair of parts used together is called the "PRM Solo" and provides a full remote level control with 1db steps. It can be installed inside almost any existing pre-amp or diy project in place of a regular level control. All you need to do is apply power to the BSA-1 PCB and it's ready to run. The many other TAP PCB options that can be run from the PRM-1 are outlined in the TAP OEM/DIY web page and manual.
Soon we will have an alternate flush mount plate for the PRM-1 module - for a cleaner look in DIY or OEM designs where the simple single hole mounting of the PRM-1 Module shown here is not needed.
PRM Solo Features:
- Full Remote control + level up & level down buttons on the module.
- Simply mounts in a standard 0.375" attenuator hole
- Completely assembled and tested - not a bag of parts!
- Latching Relays used for VERY low standby current draw.

- 64 1db level steps
- 10K Input Impedance
- 2 Channels on single PCB - double up PCB's to make a true balanced attenuator
- Required voltage = 8Vdc to 18Vdc
- Required Current = 4mA
